SYNOPSIS
Malavika Sarukkai is easily the most accomplished bharatanatyam dancer today. She is an artiste who has worked and polished her art form to such perfection that it is an extension of her body. Traditionally trained in bharatanatyam, she has evolved a style of her own and has several productions that have touches of kathak and odissi dance forms in her repertoire.
Malavika was awarded the Sangeet Nataka Academy Award in 2002 and the Padmashri by the Government of India in
2003, and has participated in major dance festivals in Brazil,France, India, Japan, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
