SYNOPSIS
Playwright: Li Kui Ming
真    如 ......... 蓋鳴暉                        Prince Shinnyo: Koi Ming Fai
香    凝 ......... 吳美英                        Xiang Ning: Ng Mei Ying

The love story begins with the rendezvous of Prince Shinnyo and his childhood lover Xiang Ning . Shinnyo was born gifted and whenever he recites love poems, he attracts surrounding butterflies. On their proposal date, he finds out that Xiang Ning emits an alluring body scent when she falls in love.

This fatal attraction is considered as an ominous sign to the sovereign and she refrains from accepting Shinnyo’s proposal in fear of bestowing harm to him. Unfortunately, a coup d’etat overnight turns the Prince to a prisoner and he is relegated from the palace to become a monk.  Xiang Ning surrenders her virginity to Shinnyo upon their painful parting.
Twenty years pass by, Queen Xiang Ning, whom Shinnyo believed to have betrayed him in marrying the rebel prince, is seriously ill.  Shinnyo disguises himself as a Tibetan monk and offers to cure the Queen.

At the palace, he realises that the crowned son of Xiang Ning is actually his son. When the ailing queen sees him, her alluring scent returns and so do the butterflies. However when he tries to save his beloved Xiang Ning, he finds that he has lost his healing power. He sings his last love song to his departing lover and the butterflies come in mourning.
